Sankri serves as a base camp for the majority of treks in the Garhwal Himalayas, ranging from easy to difficult. The tranquillity of Sankri heightens the adrenaline surge. This lovely base camp is hidden in the most secluded part of Uttarakhand, with the sound of the valleys and the river rushing creating the ideal setting.

Sankri is located in the high hills of Uttarakhand, and serves as the entrance point to the Govind Vihar Pashu It is one of India’s most beautiful villages. Sankri is located 200 kilometers from Dehradun and takes approximately 7-10 hours to get by road, depending on the mode of transportation.

1) Baradsar Lake Trek

The Baradsar Lake Trek is one of India’s most beautiful routes, located in the Sankri range of Uttarakhand. The entire trek offers panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks. This trek has no doubt enchanted nature enthusiasts, taking you past vast meadows, thrilling ridges, and lovely campsites. The lake is located at a height of 4400 meters, separating both valleys, Rupin and Supin.

Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, Hatu Peak, Kedarkantha, Lisani Pass, Lamkhaga Pass, and other unidentified peaks can be seen to the east, which shares its limits with the Rupin and Kinnaur mountain ranges to the west.

4) Bali Pass Trek

Bali Pass is a magnificent trek at an elevation of 4953 meters. The journey begins in Sankri, which acts as a base camp for several other treks and ends in Yamunotri Jankichatti. The Bali Pass trail winds through the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary National Park in Uttarkashi district, passing through lovely meadows, undulating slopes, and breathtaking scenery.

The picturesque beauty, fertile meadows, high pasturelands, glacial ranges, and sparkling views of the vast Himalayas increase the adrenaline rush. It is also a spiritual journey in which one would learn the essence of mythology Chardham.

The excursion provides breathtaking views of the great Himalayas and peaks such as Bandarpoonch Peak (6300 meters), Black Peak (6387 meters), Kalanag, Ruinsara Lake (3500 meters), and Swaragrohini (1, 2, 3). The trekkers will also travel via a sacred lake known as Ruinsara Lake.

The treks’ most beautiful sights are Rinsara Tal, Govind Pashu National Park, the lush green meadows of Deshu Bugyal, Odari, Damini, and Yamunotri Temple.

The following day, trekkers will travel to Kedarkantha and then to the Kedarkantha summit. The magnificence of the Himalayas will greet you, with a 360-degree panorama of the Garhwal Himalayas. The Kedarkantha Trek, located in the Garhwal Himalayas, is easily accessible at any time of year.

6) Har Ki Dun Trek

7) Ruinsara Tal Trek

Ruinsara is a pristine lake in the district of Uttarkashi that is part of the Govind Wildlife National Park.

Uttarakhand is located in the Western Himalayas. It is located near the Supin River’s or Ruinsara Gad’s headwaters.

The distance is 1.7 kilometers.

The trail continues on to Bali Pass. One of the most exciting aspects of this walk is the opportunity to get vistas of the Swargarohini 1,2,3 Ruinsara range and Mt Black Peak. The Ruinsara Base Camp serves as the starting point for the Bali Pass and the Dhumdhar Kandi Pass.

From Devsu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal, the trail is decorated with wildflowers, oak trees, and alpine woods. The path is difficult but beautiful. The trail from Ruinsara Tal continues to Odari, Bali Pass. The path ahead will mostly consist of difficult patches of snow.

The Ruinsara Tal is a natural lake surrounded by stunning mountain ranges and lush meadows. One of the trek’s highlights is trekking through the lovely villages. The settlements have a vintage appearance with a rich, traditional, and cultural vibe.

The scenery from this valley is breathtaking. You will pass through historic settlements like as Dhatmir, Ganga and Puwani, and Osla.

8) Maldaru Lake

Maldaru Lake is a sacred high-altitude hiking lake near Osla Village in Har ki Dun Valley. According to mythology, the lake is the Abode of Gods and is cherished by the inhabitants. With breathtaking scenery and eye-pleasing green meadows, the beauty is spellbinding.

Maldaru Lake is a glacier lake that is 3-4 kilometers long and is located in Uttarakhand’s Govind Sanctuary National Park. The lake has clean water and serves as a gateway to Supin and Tons valleys. Maldaru is the subject of numerous folklore.

Due to the severe drought, the residents of Osla prayed to this lake. In exchange, the residents of Osla received rain. The quiet villages drool over the magnificent alpine meadows covered with colorful wildflowers that cut through dense pine trees in Dhamtir, Dharkot, Osla, Gaangad, Seema, Vishkhopri, and Rashi.

Brahma Kamal and Phen Kamal are two well-known Himalayan wildflowers that can be found in profusion.

The journey is not easy because there are numerous hurdles along the way, which are followed by ridges that provide breathtaking views of the peaks and tall mountains. With other Himalayan peaks, Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpunch can be viewed.
